Commitment.

Thoughts run through my head,
E'en grand schemes to change the world:
Yea, to make my contribution to history.
When I sit I muse, when am walking I'm musing.
Thinking of the days to come, of the life to be lived.
In this state have I maintained a while,
Musing, scheming, planning!
In my heart I see it, it is done,
Yet with mine eyes, I see it not.
It still hangs in the vapour somewhere.
My dreams give me no contentment, only a sense of belonging.
T'is from their realisation that I will get it.
Realisation? How can I realise them?
For I have toiled, prayed and put forth effort.
Yet, sitting here under the cool shade of this tree,
I still cannot account for the toil and effort. No favourable end achieved.
But I lean back, to seriously consider my misery, wherein I am bound.
Thought have I? Yea
Schemed have I? Yea
Worked have I? Yea
In the wondering of my heart,
As of a sheep lost in the woods,
I notice my undoing.
It is not grand so as to be loud or expressly visible, but has pulled me back.
In all my undertaking, in all mine activity:
I did not put my seal.
I thought, then acted rashly, but never committed to it.
Thought I had dreams, yet had only longings.
Thought I had plans, only schemes.
I put not myself to it, to sign a pact with myself,
To hold myself accountable for that which I had sat down and agreed with myself.
I had not committed, I had not regarded myself as worthy of my own deeds.
For what man will accomplish anything if he not put his heart into anything,
If he will not put his will to have and see it done?
Therefore my acts were void of vigor,
My schemes without cause,
and my thoughts without depth.
I know I'm not alone, thus I write.
I will commit to my dreams, to myself- I will be accountable.
Even you dear reader, will soar and succeed,
and be at peace with yourself...
If you but do the same.

Attention: The Key to Influence

Attention is the key to influence. A token by which individuals, occurences and the various constituents of life are given power to affect one's decision(s). All decisions be they productive or indolent, find their roots in this gem. Wherever one  places his/her heedfulness there, are his/her choices and preferences hinged.

By virtue of the occurences and people we surrender our attention to, to them we give power to alter our perceptions and shift our views. One's direction will go only but one way: that of his vision. A man's mental disposition is in absolute correlation with those of his teachers he heeded the most: and his truths also align with the thoughts he has habitually chosen to entertain. He who hearkens to a soldier, will surely regard life as a battlefield. He who delights himself in sweet quiet music will surely appreciate the inherent beauty, both of nature and Man. 

Your world view, is the rock from which your actions are hewn. A man's way falls within the confinements of his Perception. He only acts in the way he perceives a situation. Our perception is the way we analyze activity, scrutinize the scripts of life and pass judgement. Our perceptions are the aggregation of the great many scenes we have passed through in life and the conclusions we have gathered therefrom. No man is without one: each of us is bound by some viewpoint, wrong or right. How you and I will fare in life, is dependent on how we have defined our world and interpret it. 

Give your attention to things that matter: surrender your time to that which be worth your thought. Be watchful only for those things that are needful and inspire you. Let your focus be that which tends to better decisions and brighter dispositions.

It is a statement of proven truth, that a lot many things that call for one's attention, only excite, in one way or the other, the senses, with no profit delivered. It is therefore called-for that we, you and I, guard our life, that we be only alert to higher thoughts, higher activity, that our lives may shine, for its totality is but a reflection of where our vision, ears and mind have been inclined.

The Power of Relationships

What we often search for is right before us, hidden in plain sight they say. Because we look for things yet they do not come in the form we expect. We miss them because our expectation is out of line. Standing beside you, is the character of the future. Next to you is Him, it is Her. You think you know him, yet you're deluded. A friend is she? Brother to you is he? Nay, I say: He is the future beckoning, she is the world before you calling. The person next to you has the key to your destiny.

Oftentimes we overlook the value of people, colleagues, and the host of persons around us. No Man single handedly sailed the seas, nor does a great man have one teacher, but through consolidated strength are dreams realised. Show me your accomplice, and I will show you what you will accomplish.  For two are better than one, for they have a good reward for what they do...

The answer you toil up the night for, rarely is delivered to you. It comes in the figure of a Person. Great inventions came through the crowd, the marvelous works of art we revere were but inspiration brought unknowingly by a person met in the hallway, a fancy mentioned in passing by a stranger, or a yearn roused by the sentiments of a touching personal account of a friend or acquaintance...

Even in the most unseemly and unexpected of cases, there is a thing beneficent to be gotten, even from an enemy. I do not consider this a manual for relations, nay, it is a mere call to the appreciation of others. Yeah, even their vast potential to positively  contribute  to our lives. That one may learn from the other, that the resource within each man be of benefit to the World.

No man is created, having the full arsenal of life. But along the way, is placed in his sway, helpers; instructors, sentinels and supports. Within his reach, are placed, though concealed, aids to his success and achievement of destiny. The first test therefore every one of us has, is to sift through the clutter of all manner of traits in character of those that surround our life, and ignore all else save the goodness that be advantageous, favorable, and profitable. Having done this patient endurance is born, and one will not be prompt to pass judgement on others for his quest is only for those noble and honorable attributes that be possessed in each whom we meet. This quality will save us from countless squabbles, rash judgements, skirmishes, and strife that a great many find themselves entangled in. 

Treat all men with honor. Allow the blessing of their Experience(s), Wisdom, and Passion to assist the furtherance of your truest dreams. Gently nurture relationships, appropriately tend to them and you shall have an army of brothers pushing at your goals. Consider others a resource not a vile of sorts. Trust them and they will give to you their hearts, believe in them and they will show forth their creativity, appreciate them, and you will stumble upon their love and wisdom,  love them and they will be brothers for life. What is there to lose, the world is there to gain. Never more let this truth slip your conscience: Right left to you, is the character of the future, right next to you is the incentive for your destiny...The person next to you is a blessing, and vice-versa.
